When Is Too Much, Too Much?

Many individuals starting out in fitness go into it with the best mindset. But this mindset can be an hindering element when discretion is ignored for accolades. A perfect example of this twisted train of thought would be the fine gentleman in the video below. Besides doing exercise for self improvement, he decided to do push-ups of four swissballs. Did he get a great workout? Was he able to take this feat and make it into a bodybuilding phenomenon? The answer to all is an unquestionable no! The only thing he did accomplish is a video on what not to do when too much is too much!! Don’t disturb your neighbors laughing to loud on this one.




The video IS funny, but what’s sad is that there is a mindset among some that feels that making every exercise into a balance exercise is a good thing. I saw a guy who was doing overhead squats on the FLAT side of a BOSU with 135 pounds (bar plus 2-45 pound plates) over his head. I was impressed that he was actually performing this circus trick, but it seemed dreadfully unsafe to me. Then again, everyone has an opinion, right…
