What Useful Things Are You Doing At The Beach?
Although it may not quite feel like summer here in the mid-west, it is technically that time of the year. Time to pull out the beach slippers, big umbrellas and the coolers with something refreshing in them. This is a typical day at the beach for most. Many don’t think of the beach as a prime place for an excellent workout. But it is! There are many unconventional routines that can be done that will bring a whole new perspective to your workout and give you a great change of scenery, not to mention getting some sun in your system. This video below, done with kids no less, gives a great set of drills that can be done with a simple hill. Many beaches have these simple inclines that are great for resistance and endurance based exercise. This video has completely inspired me to really up my hill sprinting game by adding some of the variations shown. Now if I could just get the mid-west weather to bless me with an acceptable beach climate, I might be able to get that started. Oh well, patience is a virtue. Enjoy the video anyway.

I love your posts! Original and unique ways of incorporating a workout into your lifestyle is the way to go. There really is no excuse not to workout.
I love working out at the beach! It’s so humid here in Charleston, SC though that to get a good workout in you have to get there as the sun is coming up other wise the heat is too brutal.
Now these workouts at the beach look like alot of fun! And plus you can work on your tan at the same time, that’s huge if you ask me, hehe. Just gotta make sure you really stay hydrated though, hehe.
Till then,
Jean
The main thing about working out at the beach is that the sand is perfect for building every muscle in your feet and your legs. If you run in shoes on pavement, it’s only working on the main muscles in your feet. However, running on the beach, it allows all those little muscles in your feet to build up. I’d have to say if you want to get the most out of running, then run on the beach. Excellent!
I am going to the beach in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if having a full moon while I was there would make a difference on how big the waves would be. I’m asking because the waves at the beach where I’m going have been high at times and virtually non-existent at others (over the years).
