What Is The One Best Exercise Someone Can Do?

Posted in Full Body, Core Training, Leg Workouts, Back Workouts on the October 5, 2007

This is a great question, but the answer matters more on the body area, be it upper, lower, front, or back. For the video we are discussing today, the dead lift is the best exercise for building a strong posterior chain. There isn’t a better workout for the lower back than the dead lift. It strengthens the core, back, thighs, hips, and the obliques. It is often overlooked due to the lack of visible muscles it produces, yet the benefits are unmeasurable. I personally had lower back issues but have almost cured this in strengthening this vital area in my body. Enjoy, and new guys, do this exercise!

Well, of course you know which one is relevant here. I actually believe that anyone carrying a backpack should have books in it and have a mind state of study, although this isn’t a bad alternative. This video features a great variation of the weighted vest. For those not in a position to purchase an exercise vest, one can always look in that old closet and find a dusty backpack. Fill it with some weights of some kind and go to work. The ways in which this can be utilized are limitless, so watch the video and use your imagination to come up with ideas on how this can benefit you.

Can You Get Your Muscles Up With Muscle Ups?

Posted in Back Workouts, Chest Workouts on the September 28, 2007

In my opinion, no. Muscle ups are a variation of pull-ups that involve the actual body going above the pull-up bar into a vertical pushup. Now with that very Webster like description, I should also tell everyone, I really don’t like this exercise. The reason I don’t is actually explained in this video. This exercise incorporates to much momentum. The better a person can throw their bodyweight, the better this will be performed. There are some core benefits to this workout, but the throwing and motion of this movement negates much of the direct muscle benefits. However, I will say this, this video is post worthy due to it goes in depth in explaining the momentum and how the exercise works. Add this to your workout if you like, I personally won’t, but others have stated to me that they love them Enjoy.

Not Strong Enough For Pull-ups Yet?

One of the most frequent comments I get on Street Workout.Com is that some of my viewers don’t think they are up to the skill level of the individuals in these videos. I attempt to post videos that are inclusive to all skill levels and try to especially accommodate new and returning athletes. Chin-ups and pull-ups are foundation exercises to a bodyweight workout, but some just haven’t arrived to that point yet. This video will hopefully get you working towards that goal. This exercise is called a bodyweight row. It’s very good for beginners. This video is a perfect example of this startup exercise, coming from the guys over at Elite Fitness. Enjoy the video and give them a try.

Well, according to this video the answer is yes. These guys are part of the Ruff Ryder’s Workout Crew and specialize in what they call the Thug Workout. It’s a bunch of bodyweight exercises done in local parks by self proclaimed thugs. Although the language can get rough in these videos, these guys have some sound ideals when it come to free hand exercises. Except for a lack of leg exercises, this would almost be considered a comprehensive collection of calisthenic exercises. If you can get beyond the rough exterior of this video, you can get some great is deas that will benefit anyone wanting to start a home fitness program.
